Kristina + Gina - Wedding // Super 8 + Polaroids + Large Format
A little while back, I had the honor of shooting a fellow film aficionado’s wedding entirely on film. Kristina lives near me in NYC and loves her weird and eccentric film formats just like me so when she asked me to shoot her wedding in Wisconsin on Super 8, large format, peel-apart film and 8x10 Polaroids and film, I was so thrilled. I knew it would be a lot to juggle all of these film formats and cameras for a wedding day but for such a lovely couple and friend, I had to make it happen. Kristina brought my big heavy Polaroid 8x10 processor out to Wisconsin and I used her 8x10 camera along with my 4x5 Graflex SLR to shoot both sheet film and Polaroids throughout the day. I was so lucky to be given her stash of rare 8x10 Polaroid and FP-100C instant peel-apart film to use for the day. While it was definitely a hot day — nothing compares to having a pile of beautiful Polaroids of all sizes and expirations to look back on with the couple and appreciate.

The Polaroid Go even made an appearance! I love having a couple just as obsessed with film as me!
I shot some of the 4x5 during their first look which was so beautiful and sweet. Located under a huge old tree on a farm, it was so cool to see them both see each other for the first time and share their vows with each other before the day got too crazy. They also did a first look with all the bridesmaids and it was just so funny and charming seeing all of their reactions. Can’t be beat! Regardless of film format, this wedding was so full of love and good vibes, it was a blast to be in their presence all day.
The rest of the 4x5 and Polaroids including some extremely expired 4x5 Polaroids were shot throughout the day when we could take some time to set everything up and get some beautiful shots.
Really grateful to have such lovely couples whether or not they are film nerds or not. It makes capturing these weddings so much fun.
